Scientists managed to cure patients with blood terminal cancer
American researchers have reported about development of revolutionary therapy against leukemia.
The results of their work have been presented on the summit of American association for the advancement of science in Washington.
The treatment technique using genetically modified immune cells (so-called T lymphocytes) practically in 90% of cases led to absolute recovery of patients for whom the blood cancer at the last stage has been diagnosed.
As one of heads of research, professor Stanley Riddell has reported, that their developed therapy has rescued those patients for whom the rest of already existing treatment methods were inappropriate.
At the same time the scientists note that some patients participating in studying of efficiency of new treatment technique have died after therapy therefore it needs further researches for revealing and exception of all possible risks.
